Omni Hotels & Resorts has officially opened the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, marking its return to South Florida after more than two decades. The hotel, situated on the scenic Intracoastal Waterway, serves as the flagship anchor of the expanded Broward County Convention Centre District, offering a new standard of coastal luxury and hospitality.
The hotel features 801 guest rooms, including 82 suites, and boasts seven dining venues, a Mokara Spa, and over 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Its prime location provides direct access to the convention centre and is minutes away from Fort Lauderdale's beaches, Port Everglades Cruise Terminal, and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts, expressed gratitude to the Broward County Board of Commissioners and partners for their collaboration, stating, "Today's opening marks an exciting new chapter for Broward County and Omni."
The project is expected to generate over $450 million for the local economy and create more than 3,000 jobs. Gayla Guyse, General Manager of Omni Fort Lauderdale, highlighted the hotel's role in driving economic impact and creating professional opportunities, saying, "Our prime waterfront location, exceptional amenities, and seamless integration with the convention centre uniquely position us as a premier meetings and leisure destination on a global scale."
Designed by Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects, the hotel is inspired by Florida's natural beauty and the legendary journey of the Barefoot Mailmen. With its expansive meeting spaces and distinctive dining options, Omni Fort Lauderdale is set to become a key destination for conventions, meetings, and leisure in Greater Fort Lauderdale.
