Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, July 16, 2010 /India PRwire/ — Gati, the leader in express distribution and supply chain solutions has associated with the AP Government to drive the “Harith Andhra Pradesh” initiative. This initiative is a reflection of Gati and the AP Government’s commitment to turning the state into ‘Harith Andhra Pradesh’.
The drive envisages planting a whopping One Million Saplings in just one day across Andhra Pradesh on 16th July 2010. This first of its kind initiative to plant a million trees on a single day has been taken up by the state government to fulfil the cherished dream of late Chief Minister, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in turning the state into ‘Harith Andhra Pradesh’, and in turn towards the larger cause of ‘Global Warming’.
“We are proud and delighted to be a part of this first of its kind initiative taken up by the AP Government. At Gati, we believe that social responsibility is an imperative for the organisation and every individual within that.” said Mr. Harry Lagad, Executive Director – Gati Ltd.
Such a Public-Private Partnership would go a long way in channelizing the resources we have in the right direction and to the right causes. Socially responsible organisations coming together with the Government is key to making the One Vision and One Dream a reality. Gati’s own on-going “Go Green” policy has found a match in the AP states initiatives to giving a better life to its people.
