Passenger plane gets missile defence

The first passenger plane equipped with a laser system torepel shoulder-launched missiles has successfully completed its first flight,The Times has reported. The JetEye infrared missile-defence system was testedon an American Airlines (AA) flight on 11 July, according to a statement fromBritish firm BAE Systems. The missile-protection equipment will be installed ontwo more AA Boeing 767-200 aircraft, although no missiles will be fired atthese flights.
