16 February 2010: There’s a fresh new look to the PATA website. It’s the same URL (www.pata.org) but with much improved content and functionality. New features including blogs and Google maps; beefed-up sections for PATA Chapters, Events and Intelligence – and the Media Centre is designed to be much more user-friendly.
It’s a site set to burst with ingenuity and innovation – and it’s also got teeth. The Strategic Intelligence arm of PATA has created TIGA (Tourism Indicator Gateway Architecture) – an interactive tool that ‘brings quantified changes in travel flow data to your fingertips, as and when you need it’.
This tool is linked dynamically to the PATA databases – so visitors to the PATA website may access updates in real time. Data and query options are limited at this stage but PATA members will soon be able to access a far more detailed version as part of the expanding benefits package.
NB: We welcome feedback from journalists on the content of the new site – in particularly the media centre which is very much ‘work in progress’. Tell us what you need – and we’ll do our best to help. Feedback to: communications@pata.org
