Turkey-based airline Pegasus Airlines has reached net profits of TL44.1 million (GBP14.4m) for the first six months of this year.
The result was improved from the same period last year, when the airline posted a loss of GBP37.3m.
The carrier, which offers flights from Gatwick and Stansted in the UK, launched 15 new routes and increased the frequency on several flights to reach the profit, pushing its load factor up to 79.3%.
Its traffic was up 22.6% year-on-year, totalling 7.55 million passengers.
The airline said a mixture of sales campaigns and “effective income management” in the first half had seen its cost per available seat kilometre drop GBP3.83 to GBP3.54.
