Could you elaborate on the Pegasus Airlines Annual Global GSA Sales Conference?
This was Pegasus Airlines’ 4th annual Global GSA conference and was a really good opportunity to discuss further developments, strategies, share new ideas and evaluate best practice. Each year we implement new ideas and try to improve on our distribution, marketing and operations.
How has the airline fared in the region?
Since our Dubai flights launched in October 2012, we have had healthy load factors and performance. Today, we have five weekly, instead of thrice weekly flights . We are continuing our efforts for increasing the frequency of flights further and are in touch with relevant authorities. Our low cost model together with long-haul opportunity has worked very well and has been accepted in this market.
What is the key objective of holding the conference in UAE?
As decided with our GSAs, this conference is held a different country every year. This will give us and our GSAs an opportunity to see and experience the selected country, its market and working styles. We had a wonderful experience in Dubai this year.
What are the airline’s expansion plans?
Our strategy is to penetrate more into Europe by increasing frequencies. For example, we now fly to London, Paris and Amsterdam double daily. Our biggest source of growth will be new markets and destinations we are flying to in Russia, CIS Countries, Middle East, the Caucasus, North Africa and Eastern Europe. We are planning to increase our flight frequency to daily for the Dubai route. Our aim is also to fly to new destinations from Istanbul and increase frequencies for existing routes with our new fleet helping to increase the load factor and enabling us to continue to offer affordable fares.
