PIA to carry 114,000 pilgrims

Business is booming for airlines across the region as million of Hajj pilgrims poor into Saudi Arabia. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has already flown well over 30,000 travellers to Jeddah in the past 10 days. In that time the national carrier has operated 81 flights to the country from various Pakistani cities. The International Herald Tribune reports that PIA pre-Hajj operations will continue until 10 November before post-Hajj operations kick-in on 21 November for a whole month. PIA expects to carry a total of 114,000 passengers during that time on 272 flights from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot and Multan.
