Pierre & Vacances has announced that it is to conduct a full audit of its holiday properties with Argent Health & Safety. The outcomes of the survey will then be placed on ABTAResortCheck.com for tour operators to see. “This is a better approach than placing the full burden on tour operators,” said Terry Auld, client relationship manager for Argent Health & Safety. “It is more efficient for the travel industry, flags any remedial work for the accommodation provider early so this can be actioned in good time for winter and summer seasons and is simpler to manage.” The audits will look at fire safety measures, lighting in emergency use, the swimming pool, general trip safety and food and water safety. “The audits will act as a quality benchmark for us,” added Cathy Rankin, UK and Ireland sales and marketing director at Pierre & Vacances.
