Plane skids off runway at Jakarta airport

A Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-200 skidded off the runway at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Wednesday after it tore its front wheels on landing, the Jakarta Post has reported. The plane, en route to Medan, had reportedly returned to Jakarta after developing a problem with its hydraulic system. None of the 136 people on board were injured, the report added.
