P&O Cruises’ Pacific Jewel liner recently provided the setting for the cruise line’s first onboard wedding ceremony.
Australian couple Gary Graham and Sue Marcelis tied the knot on ship in Sydney in late March, before sailing off on a 10-night honeymoon cruise with their wedding party of 10 guests.
The ceremony was the first wedding performed as part of P&O Cruises’ new ‘Ceremonies at Sea’ programme, launched late last year. Thirty weddings have already been booked onboard its four-ship fleet, along with more than 50 vow renewal ceremonies.
The Ceremonies at Sea programme offers wedding services, commitment ceremonies and vow renewals on all four P&O Cruises’ ships, with P&O Cruises handling everything from photographers and flowers through to post-wedding dinners.
Wedding ceremonies are available in port in Sydney, Brisbane, Newcastle, Fremantle and Auckland on embarkation day and are performed by a celebrant. Vow renewals and commitment ceremonies are performed at sea by the Captain or a senior officer.
