Santa Claus cruised into the South Pacific onboard P&O Cruises’ Pacific Dawn over Christmas, delivering gifts to children at Isle of Pines, Mystery Island, Lifou and Vila.
The 1200 gifts distributed to children by Pacific Dawn’s crew were donated by P&O Cruises, Carnival Australia staff and Hurstville Grove Infants School in Sydney.
The gifts included pencils, paints and brushes, paper, reading books and musical instruments.
John Nell, Director of Shore Operations at P&O Cruises who coordinated the donation drive, said the Christmas campaign had been a great success.
“Our ship crew were greeted with many smiling young faces on Christmas morning which really brought the true spirit of Christmas to light,” Mr Nell said.
“The people of the South Pacific welcome our passengers so warmly each time we visit, this was one way of giving something back.”
