P&O offers VIP giveaway for Pacific Jewel

P&O Cruises is offering Australians the chance to be part of cruising history and attend the VIP launch of its latest superliner, Pacific Jewel, on Saturday December 12.
Five double tickets to the invitation-only event at Circular Quay will be auctioned for charity by GraysOnline, giving cruise enthusiasts the opportunity to attend the traditional naming ceremony to be conducted by the Governor-General of Australia, Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC.
The lucky winners will mingle with Sydney’s A-list at this exclusive event and be treated to a tour of the new ship, fine food and wine and a spectacular fireworks display above Sydney Harbour.
Australians keen to snap up tickets to one of the biggest events on Sydney Harbour this summer should visit www.graysonline.com. Bids close at 8.45pm on November 30 with all money raised going to two charities nominated by the Governor-General – the Leukaemia Foundation and Special Olympics Australia.
A highlight of the night will be the auction of a specially commissioned jewel necklace, valued at almost $50,000 and designed and created by Hardy Brothers Jewellers to mark the latest addition to P&O Cruises’ fleet.
P&O Cruises will also throw a huge public party to celebrate Pacific Jewel’s naming, kicking off at 5pm at Circular Quay and featuring a free line-up of entertainment including performances by Australian Idol winners Stan Walker and Wes Carr, breathtaking aerial circus displays, fireworks and a raffle to win a cruise.
All proceeds from the jewel auction and the public event will also be donated to charity.
