A pre-bookable taxi service has been launched in Europe to help travellers with airport transfers to hotels.
The company, named Cabforce, has launched an iPhone app with bookable taxis and cars from several airports in Europe after it estimated that taxi fares now account for more than 40% of spend on a trip. It currently only has a handful of trade partners through private beta but Travel Daily has been told the company will launch an affiliate programme for the travel industry later this year. “It enables partners, such as travel agencies and airlines, to monetise taxi rides as part of the door to door offering,” a statement said.
The idea was devised after its co-founders were fed up of unpredictable and unreliable taxi services.
“Our customers know that their car will be with them on time, and won’t have to worry about hidden charges or unnecessary detours,” said Tommi Holmgren, chief product officer at Cabforce.
