Premier Inn is keen to develop relationships with the UK travel trade as it continues its expansion into India. The group’s management has announced a 143 room hotel is due to open in Delhi at the end of this year, following the success of the Bangalore property, which was launched last December. In addition a 119 room hotel will be introduced in Pune in 2012. “We want to make the UK travel trade aware that the brand is to international standards and customers can expect exactly the same from an Indian premier inn as they do from one in the UK,” Ally Shariff, Managing Director of Premier Inn India told Travel Daily. “We include all the standard features that people have come to expect from our brand including a multi cuisine restaurant, free internet access, meeting rooms and a gym. The hotels remain really good value whilst offering a familiar level of comfort to a three star standard.” He added that the properties are likely to attract a mix of business travellers, value conscious leisure tourists and luxury backpackers.
