Proposals for Changi motorsports hub revealed

Three groups bidding to design, build and manage Singapore’s Changi Motorsports Hub made their presentations to the media on Monday. According to a ChannelNewsAsia report, Singapore Agro Agricultural (SAA), Sports Services Group, and SG Changi all made their proposals to build tracks, grandstands, and supporting infrastructure to bring world class motor racing series’ to the city state.
The SAA bid would comprise a 4.4km circuit and 8,000-seater covered grandstand as well as entertainment, shopping, dining and auto workshop facilities. Sports Services Group will reportedly invest in a 4.2km track, which could also be used for carnivals, marathons and corporate events. The bid also includes a motorsports country club, which will cater to 3,000 members. Finally SG Changi is planning a 3.7km long circuit will have a seating capacity of 30,000, including a permanent solar-roof grandstand to accommodate 8,000 seats. It would also include a motorsports museum.
