The former French colony in south India, Puducherry, and the French city coastal city of La Rochelle, are to cooperate in tourism, culture, heritage, urban development and in exchange of knowledge, Anil Mathur reports.
A top level team from La Rochelle is currently in Puducherry, southeast India, to sign an MoU which will pave the way for such cooperation.
Puducherry still has much flavour of France, including its language. A French Consulate is also stationed there to look after the needs of its people, many of whom have served in France.
