Pulitzer’s Bar, set within the 47-year old Pulitzer Amsterdam hotel, is bringing back the roaring 20s with a new cocktail menu inspired by The Great Gatsby.
The menu comprises nine cocktails with flavour profiles ranging from bitter and sweet to light and zesty, heavy and smoky. The menu is available from October 2017 with drinks priced from €15 / £13
Andrei Talapanescu, Pulitzer’s Bar’s head bartender, said: “The new menu celebrates the era which Pulitzer’s Bar very much evokes – it’s a grand, glamourous and timeless space that lends itself perfectly to visions of the roaring twenties with drinks to match.”
Cocktails on the new menu include: Old Sport, made with Singleton 12, Amontillado sherry, Pekoe Earl Grey and aromatic leaf bitters, Dashing Daisy, made with marigold-infused Tanqueray 10, Mandarin & Calamansi Shrub, Orgeat, egg white and Peychaud’s Bitters; and Lavish Party, using Zapaca Rum, orange & lime acid, WF Monastique, Sechuan Honey and Champagne.
Also available are: Oxford Lady, using Bombay Star, coconut liqueur, lime, passionfruit, coriander leaves and Hellfire Bitters; Summer of 1922 with Cocchi, Riesling, jasmine, Fernet Branca and tonic; and Valley of Ashes, made with Corn n Oil, Bulleit Bourbon, Long Pepper Falernum, lime & lemon sherbet, Aphrodite Bitters, Pimento Dram, and edible ashes.
