Qantas has launched its new checked baggage policy for domestic services. The Australian carrier will now offer a complimentary checked baggage allowance to customers regardless of their travel class, for both Qantas and QantasLink services. Economy Class passengers will be allowed to carry one piece of baggage up to 23kg, while for Business Class this single piece weight allowance will be 32kg – the same as Qantas Club members and Silver and Gold frequent flyers travelling in Economy Class. Silver and Gold FFP members in Business Class will be permitted to carry two pieces of luggage up to 32kg each. Finally Platinum frequent flyers will be permitted two pieces of 32kg luggage regardless of travel class.
