QF head of commercial Rob Gurney told TD yesterday that Qantas was investing heavily to boost traffic to growing markets, and there are expectations that moves will include more traffic to China and possibly India.
Qantas has A380 and B787 aircraft on order which will boost capacity by 40% by 2014.
Gurney also signalled the ongoing difficulty with the Japanese market to Australia, which has suffered due to a strong A$ compared to the yen, up 65% since 2001.
