The world-famous QE2 liner has left the UK on its last ever voyage, the BBC has reported. Thousands of well-wishers looked on from Southampton quayside as the 70,000-ton ship set off for Dubai, where it will serve as a tourist attraction at the Palm Jumeirah.
In its 41-year lifetime, the cruise liner has sailed nearly six million nautical miles, been round the world 25 times, crossed the Atlantic more than 800 times and carried more than 2.5 million passengers.
