Ritz-Cartlon Powerscourt, County Wicklow has designed a new Coroporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to coincide with business trips to the hotel.
Businesses who use the hotel for meetings, incentives or team building days can now opt to give something back by visiting a centre for a day. Corporate groups may visit The Orchard Centre, where they will have the chance to meet the 110 milking cows that make the milk for Baileys Irish Cream. Then teams will be made to build a replica ‘Baileys Lady’ which will later be raced. Or they may visit the Ardeen Cheshire Home, a non-profit organisation that provides accommodation and support to adults with physical disabilities. Activities could include the general refurbishment of the patio and garden area or the redevelopment of the orchard, ensuring a pleasant location is available for the residents to enjoy. Alternatively, the group can move to Tomnafinnogue Wood, the last surviving fragment of the Shillelagh woods which once clothed the hills and valleys of south Wicklow, where volunteers can help with conservation.
