Ritz-Carlton to open first property in Abu Dhabi

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has confirmed it will open its first property in Abu Dhabi later this year.The company revealed the waterfront development is a signing ceremony with Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH). Set amidst landscaped gardens with its own private beach overlooking Abu Dhabi’s Grand Canal, the property will feature 447 luxurious guestrooms and suites, as well as 85 villas. Inspired by the 15th to early 17th century Renaissance architecture and the urban planning of the city of Venice, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi will consist of ten buildings arranged in a crescent formation, completely with water features throughout the 220,000 square metre (54 acre) property. A key highlight of property will be one and two-bedroom villas, each ranging in size from 90 to 130 square metres (968 to 1,400 square feet,) and complete with spacious outdoor terraces and personalised butler services. The hotel will also feature The Ritz-Carlton Club, a private floor accessible only by elevator key and offering five complimentary food and beverage presentations throughout the day and a dedicated concierge service. “The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal hotel will be a welcome landmark, and together with the owning company Abu Dhabi National Hotels, we will create a prestigious luxury hotel that will be the highlight of the new waterfront development,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operations officer, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.Other highlights of the property will include a ESPA spa with 20 treatment rooms, a fully-equipped fitness centre, outdoor tennis courts, and a massive 1,600 sq metre outdoor swimming pool.The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal will be the company’s third hotel in the United Arab Emirates.
