23 Sep 09 (Travmedia.com): The outlook is bright for Queensland based online travel and technology company Roamfree which today announced that respected entrepreneur and seasoned online tourism industry veteran David Oliver, CEO of Tourism Holdings, has acquired – Resonline, Roamfree advanced, roamfree.com and BookEasy reservation system.
His long history with the tourism and accommodation industry in Australia spans 25 years and he has over 14 years experience in the online distribution of tourism products with proven expertise to enhance the overall performance of the business. Mr. Oliver was one of the co founders of Resonline and Last Minute Manager which was one of the innovators of online accommodation booking and distribution technology before selling to Roamfree in 2006. Roamfree is 100% secure, according to the new CEO who has assured customers that Roamfree is backed up by the Travel Compensation Fund.
Oliver says Roamfree’s original strategy of developing real-time online offering was a good one, but the company lacked the necessary tourism technology experience. “That’s where our expertise comes in.”
“The current economic climate has resulted in fierce competition therefore our first step will be to consolidate all facets of the business with tighter controls and to optimise the experience of our staff,” he continued. “We predict that growth in online travel will continue to significantly outpace traditional travel industry growth, and are committed to adding better value with
real-time bookings to attract new customers,” said CEO David Oliver.
Consumers can currently search via the Roamfree.com website thousands of accommodation providers in Australia and New Zealand, however within a few weeks the company will reposition itself and offer both year round, last minute and business travelers hundreds of thousands of accommodation options at great rates throughout the world.
