Rosewood Abu Dhabi opens for business

Rosewood Abu Dhabi recently witnessed a grand opening on Al Maryah Island. The inaugural evening had traditional Ayyala dancers and Al-Ras and Takhamir drummers.
The ceremony was attended by HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), HE Mubarak Al Muhairi, director general TCA Abu Dhabi, HE Jasem Al Darmaki, deputy director general TCA Abu Dhabi, HE Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, CEO Mubadala Development Company, Ali Eid AlMheiri, executive director, Mubadala Real Estate & Infrastructure (MREI), Sonia Cheng, CEO, Rosewood Hotel Group, Radha Arora, president Rosewood Hotels & Resorts® and additional dignitaries.
Ali Eid AlMheiri, executive director, Mubadala Real Estate & Infrastructure (MREI) said: “The vision for Al Maryah Island has always been for development of a vibrant urban community. We believe Sowwah Square will take its place not just at the heart of Abu Dhabi’s business community, but in hearts of the greater community, providing a new and exciting destination for everyone.”
Luigi Romaniello, managing director, Rosewood Abu Dhabi, further added: “With the recent opening of The Galleria, and continuous developments around us on Al Maryah Island, the district is truly becoming an elite luxury lifestyle destination.”
Rosewood Abu Dhabi offers nine signature restaurants and lounges including Aqua, a 24-hour Northern Italian and Mediterranean restaurant, Spice Mela, a Pan-Indian restaurant, the Hidden Bar, a lounge, Sambusek, a Lebanese restaurant, Smoke, Sambusek’s shisha terrace, La Cava, an exclusive sommelier cellar, Majlis Lobby Lounge and Glo, an open-air lounge and Catalan, Abu Dhabi’s first Catalonian restaurant. The property also features eight conference and event spaces including a ballroom which can accommodate up to 1,000 guests and the Rosewood Spa®.
