Rotana will be participating in Arabian Travel Market (ATM) for the 14th year running as it pushes ahead with expansion plans in a bid to take its portfolio of properties to 70-strong by 2014.
Planned developments will take the firm into new markets such as Bahrain, Baghdad, Jordan, Oman, Iraq, Qatar and Saudi Arabia and for the next four years, Rotana will open 10 hotels per year.
Earlier this year the firm opened Rose Rayhaan by Rotana, Dubai’s latest landmark which is certified as the tallest hotel in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The second quarter of 2010 will see the opening of Rotana’s first resort in Dubai, Amwaj Rotana as well as Centro Barsha, Rotana’s first property to open in Dubai under the brand Centro Hotels by Rotana, following the opening of Centro Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Located on Jumeirah beach, Amwaj Rotana will be part of the new Jumeirah Beach Residence complex and is a “significant move into the resort arena for Rotana in Dubai”, according to the firm.
The property will comprise 301 deluxe rooms and suites, flexible and multipurpose ballroom and meeting rooms and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.
Elsewhere in the UAE, Rotana will roll out Nour Arjaan by Rotana in June, the 300-room Centro Sharjah Airport in August 2010 while Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana in Abu Dhabi recently opened its doors.
Rotana also makes its foray in Iraq this year, with the five-star Erbil Rotana due to open later this year.
The property is located close to the ministries area and near Erbil International Exhibition fair in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
The property will feature 201 luxurious rooms and suites, five Food & Beverage venues and complete recreational areas including Bodylines health and fitness club and a swimming pool.
Two properties in Doha – Oryx Rotana and City Centre Rotana are also scheduled to open this year.
The former – a 400-room four-star hotel – will open in June close to Doha International Airport, 5 minutes away from the City Centre and Corporate District and 20 minutes away from the Diplomatic Area and Exhibition Centre.
The latter is part of the City Centre Doha shopping complex and is located in the West Bay area, near the business district, the Diplomatic area, the Exhibition Centre and minutes away from the Doha Golf Club and the airport.
The property offers 300 luxurious rooms and suites, 100 serviced apartments along with four F&B outlets, meeting rooms, state-of-the art business services and fitness centre.
