Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA) celebrated the 20th anniversary of its first flight into the UK yesterday. The South East Asian carrier’s first flight from Bandar Seri Begawan landed at London’s Gatwick airport on 22nd November 1990. “Looking back, it’s an amazing achievement to see how far Royal Brunei has come since its first flight into London,” explained RBA chief executive officer, Robert Yang expressed his delight at the landmark anniversary. “Demand to travel with the airline means that we fly to major cities in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. We’re incredibly proud of our achievements and are working to ensure that the next 20 years mirror this success.” To commemorate the first flight, Royal Brunei celebrated in style at this year’s World Travel Market by displaying an exhibition of historical images commemorating the airline’s last 20 years.
