Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd has announced better-than-expected results for full-year 2010 as net income surged 237% to US$547.5 million, from just US$162.4 million in 2009. Revenues for the year increased 15% to US$6.8 billion, from US$5.9 billion in 2009 for the full year 2009. Despite significant market price increases, Royal Caribbean’s fuel costs per metric ton increased only 1% to US$493 as a result of the company’s fuel hedging activities.
