Two South African tourists found themselves stranded with nowhere to stay in East bourne,New Zealand, last week.
Michael and Sunette Adendorff were cursing their sat-nav as they circled the Wellington suburb, searching for a hotel that was 19,000km away. The couple, who are in New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup, pulled into a shop to ask for directions to the Majestic Hotel on Royal Parade, which they had booked prior to leaving home. When the helpful shop assistant reviewed their booking, she politely pointed out that the hotel was in East bourne,UK.
Michael Adendorff told The Dominion Post that he had thought is strange they were asked to pay in British pounds. Ms Burke kindly hosted the couple for the evening as they had nowhere else to stay.
