Ryanair has announced increased flight frequencies from six UK airports commencing in April 2014.
The low-cost carrier will add two daily services to each of its routes from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester to Dublin.
This will take its Birmingham and Edinburgh routes up to eight times a day and the Bristol and Glasgow services to six times a day. The Manchester to Dublin route will run 10 times a week.
In addition Stansted to Dublin will be served 18 times a week.
The extra capacity will add 100 extra weekly flights from the UK to Dublin, with the carrier also announcing new routes from the Irish capital to Almeria, Bari, Basel, Bucharest, Chania, Comiso, Lisbon, Marrakesh and Prague.
“Ryanair is pleased to deliver nine new Europe routes to/from Dublin and more than one million new passengers for Ireland (which will create over 1,000 new jobs at the Irish airports) in direct response to the Government’s welcome initiative to scrap the EUR3 air travel tax from April 2014. A critical component of this growth will be 100 extra weekly flights into Dublin from Britain, which will reverse the recent tourism declines in UK visitors coming to Ireland,” said Ryanair’s chief executive Michael O’Leary.
