GetThere, Sabre’s corporate travel and MICE solution, has opened its first Asian office in Singapore. The new facility will be headed up by GetThere’s Regional Director, Grant Rattray.
“We are excited about the opportunities this presents for GetThere in Asia, not only for our clients to access much needed resources for their growing travel management needs but also to execute on the differing needs for each individual market with regard to functionality, development and bottom-line savings when it comes to corporate travel” said Rattray. “Our primary focus is to deliver travel solutions which are relevant, commercially sustainable and efficient. Having a direct presence in Asia will ensure that our mission of providing market-specific solutions to our existing and potential customer bases is realised.”
Suzanne Neufang, GetThere’s Global General Manager, added; “This shift in leadership to Singapore, being one of Asia’s most significant commercial hubs, will enable GetThere’s continual product investment in the region.
“We are committed to delivering real solutions for our clients in Asia-Pacific and our investment will provide not only local expertise and support, but also a direct channel for future developments and region-relevant functionality,” Neufang said. “Grant brings more than fifteen years of experience to the role – six of which have been with GetThere and Sabre in the region. His expertise and passion for service delivery to our customer base is critical to GetThere’s continuing growth.”
Part of the Sabre Travel Network, GetThere has self-booking deployments in 79 countries. Corporations booked more than US$9 billion in business travel on GetThere in 2009, making it the world’s fastest growing online booking tool available to the corporate market.
