Vietnam’s state-owned travel company, Saigontourist has launched a major expansion project at Ho Chi Minh City’s (HCMC) Majestic Hotel. The VND1.9 trillion (US$91.3 million) project will see the company develop two towers next to the French colonial era hotel, adding 353 rooms. The extension will boost the hotel’s total inventory to 583 rooms by 2014.
The Saigon Times reported last week that Saigontourist is also planning to upgrade several other properties in the city, including the Grand Hotel, Kim Do Hotel and Continental Hotel, which are all intended to become five-star quality hotels.
