Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has commenced a new direct service connecting Stockholm with Hong Kong.

The new route launched on 11 September and will now operate five times a week. Flights depart Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1500, arriving in Hong Kong at 0720 the next day. The return service will then leave HKIA every Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 0905, arriving back into the Swedish capital at 1435.

The new service becomes the first direct connection between Hong Kong and Scandinavia, and SAS’ fourth Asian route, following Beijing, Shanghai and Tokyo.

“Today we are writing a new chapter in the history of SAS, as we launch our direct route between Stockholm and Hong Kong. We are very proud to be linking Stockholm and the rest of Scandinavia with Hong Kong through a convenient new connection. We look forward to offering a warm welcome on board to all our customers,” said Rickard Gustafson, president & CEO of SAS.

To coincide with the launch, SAS has also relaunched its lounge at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.  The lounge now covers an area of 1,400m² and offers a buffet area, showers, new meeting rooms, workstations, charging stations and Wi-Fi, plus a play area for children.

SAS will continue its international expansion in 2016 with the launch of new flights from Stockholm to Los Angeles, Oslo to Miami and Copenhagen to Miami.
