About 200 scientists and government representatives from countries bordering the South China Sea are gathering this week to discuss environmental issues and sustainable management of the area, Bernama has reported.
The five-day conference entitled: “The South China Sea: Sustaining Ocean Productivities, Maritime Communities and the Climate” will end on Saturday. It has been organised by the Institute of Ocean and Earth Sciences of Universiti Malaya, the National Oceanography Directorate of the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and Malaysian Society of Marine Sciences.
