Singaporean low-cost carrier, Scoot, is continuing its Australian expansion with the start of daily Dreamliner flights to Perth.

The new operation will commence on 1 February 2015, marking an upgrade from the airline’s existing five weekly Singapore-Perth flights, which are operated using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft. Perth will be the launch route for Scoot’s new fleet of B787 Dreamliners.

This follows hot-on-the-heels of Scoot’s announcement that it will launch flights to Melbourne in November next year, also using its new Dreamliner.

“Having flown close to 150,000 guests to and from Perth, we’re thrilled with the fantastic response to this route in the past 12 months,” said Campbell Wilson, CEO of Scoot.  “I’m also pleased to announce that starting in early 2015, Perth will be the inaugural destination for our 787 Dreamliner.

“Scoot’s 787s will deliver better comfort, a wider selection of amenities including on-board Wi-Fi, while enabling us to maintain our great value airfares so our guests can get outta here more often,” he added.

Scoot currently operates to three Australia hubs – Sydney, Gold Coast and Perth – with Melbourne flights commencing on 1 November 2015. The Perth route will be operated using the larger B787-9 Dreamliner, which is expected to feature 375 seats in a two-class layout.
