The cockpit voice recorder from the Air France plane that crashed into the Atlantic in June 2009 has been recovered from the seabed. The BBC reported investigators as saying that the ‘black box’ will now be sent to Paris to be opened. Like the flight data recorders, which were discovered over the weekend, the cockpit recorders are said to be in good condition.
The cockpit recorders will detail what was said by pilots in the moments before the crash. The families of the 228 victims, along with Air France and Airbus, which have both been charged with manslaughter over the incident, will hope that the recordings finally unravel the mystery surrounding the crash. The Airbus A330s speed sensors have been cited as a possible cause for the crash, but exact cause of the incident is still unknown.
