Shama to launch first serviced apartments in Thailand

Asia’s premier luxury boutique serviced apartment provider, Shama and Aura announced the appointment of Shama as the operator for the first flagship project outside Greater China, Shama Sukhumvit in Bangkok.
Shama was awarded the management contract for this soon-to-be opened luxury serviced apartment in November 2009, introduced by Colliers Hotels & Leisure Asia, bringing a new level of luxury service living into Bangkok.
Due to open in July 2010, the 90 luxuriously appointed apartments comprising of one, two to three bedrooms enjoying state of the art facilities, including a fitness centre, yoga room & meditation area, rooftop swimming pool, kids area and chill lounge. Located in the heart of Bangkok near the BTS Skytrain and the Metro Underground system, Shama Sukhumvit is within 200m of Bangkok’s main north-to-south expressway, and is approximately 30 minutes drive from Suvarnabhumi International and Don Muang Airports; providing an ideal home away from home for families and business travelers alike.

Being just 500 meters from the Ploenchit BTS, Shama Sukhumvit in its prime location also allows easy access to many parts of the city, specially the Central and Chitlom areas, considering the one way access of Sukhumvit. It is a very calm area that straddles both Soi 2 and Soi 4, enjoying first access to expressways and many significant commercial buildings as well as a whole host of restaurants and bars.
Since 1996, Shama has focused on the ownership and operations of properties in Greater China and is now expanding across Asia. It currently manages seven serviced apartment properties in Hong Kong, four properties in Shanghai, and one in Dalian, but aims to have 40 within the portfolio by 2013, with Bangalore, Hangzhou and Guangzhou already in the pipeline.
