Local residents gathered at the Shanghai’s Hongqiao International Airport on Saturday to protest against noise pollution from the expanding hub. The Shanghai Daily reported that more than 160 residents from four complexes located around the airport, entered the airport’s Terminal 2, and started a sit-down protest. They are also said to be concerned about the dangers posed by aircraft flying low over their buildings. Airport officials declined to comment.
