Shangri-LaHotels and Resorts has become the first international hotel group to offer freeInternet to every guest. The new scheme is a group-wide initiative launched inresponse to the current economic downturn. Guests at all 60 Shangri-La andTraders hotels and resorts will now receive unlimited high-speed Internetaccess in all areas of every hotel, including guestrooms, public areas,restaurants, lounges and function areas.
“Getting connected while on the road is the number one priority of our businesstravellers and many of our valued customers view Internet access as absolutelycrucial,” said Madhu Rao, Shangri-La’s Managing Director and CEO. “Offeringfree Internet is further evidence of our commitment to Shangri-La’s service toour customers during these uncertain times. No longer considered a luxury,guests are demanding high-speed Internet access as an essential roomrequirement and as something that should be included as a standard service by aninternational hotel group,” he added.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, current operates 60 hotels andresorts worldwide with a rooms inventory of over 28,000. The group has over 50projects under development in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.
