The aircraft will be used to operate SQ318 from Singapore to London Heathrow and the returning SQ321. This is in addition to the current daily A380 service operated on flights SQ 322 (Singapore-London) and SQ 317 (London-Singapore).
The additional service will boost the A380 frequency between both cities from seven to 11 times a week.
However, there will be a temporary break in A380 operations on SQ318 and SQ321 from July 31 to August 9 as the aircraft will be deployed to Beijing to cater for increased demand in the lead-up to the Olympic Games.
The increase in A380 services to London will follow the scheduled delivery of SIA’s fifth A380 in late June.
