TravelMonitor found that fares or routes to the Americas grew strongly across theregion, up 12% for business class and 10% across otherfare types.
“Routesto the Americassaw the biggest airfare growth over the year, as a result of tight capacity insome markets and the ongoing travel activity linked to the continued outsourcingof products and services to this region,” said Amex business travel advisoryservices head Craig Pike.
SIAclaimed the “virtual monopoly that exists on the transpacific route means that consumersare paying a very high price indeed”.
