Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia have formed a long-term alliance under a new partnership deal. Under the agreement, the airlines will work together on joint sales, marketing and distribution activities and co-ordinate their schedules to offer better connections. Codeshares and reciprocal frequent flyer programme benefits are also included in the partnership. As a result, Virgin Australia will gain 70 new destinations to its network, while SIA will add 30. “With regulatory approval, the partnership will enable us to offer even more choice for domestic and international air travel,” said Goh Choon Phong, CEO of SIA.
