Siem Reap Airways move to clarify European ban

Following the news that the European Commission has blacklisted Cambodia’s Seam Reap Airways, the airline has moved quickly to clarify the situation surrounding the reports. Newspapers, including Cambodia’s Phnom Penh Post yesterday announced the EC’s decision, which prohibits the carrier from landing its planes in at European airports. In response to the action, Siem Reap Airways issued the following statement:
“The ban is only subject to FT (Siem Reap Airways) aircraft registered in Cambodia. As a matter of fact, none of the aircraft operating FT services has been registered in the Kingdom, as they are entirely operated on a wet-leased basis, at and to international standards,” stated Lao Santi, the airline’s General Manager.
