Silversea Cruises has reorganised its management as part of its growth and marketing plans. In the UJ market, Steve Odell has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing for the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific following 10 years overseeing the Asia Pacific region. He will relocate to the London office at the beginning of July and continue to handle the Singapore office from the UK. Karen Christensen has been appointed director of sales and marketing and general manager for the company’s Australia and New Zealand business.Meanwhile, Trudy Redfern, senior vice president for UK, Ireland and Middle East is to leave the company after seven years at the cruise line. Commenting on the reshuffle, Manfredi Lefebvre, chairman of Silversea said: “Today we are seeing new geographic regions and countries that are disproportionately contributing to the cruise industry’s development, particularly in Europe. This evolution poses challenges for commercial organisations that wish to benefit from this growth. Adapting the teams to accept the challenge is of fundamental importance and this is why Silversea is now announcing changes to its organisation which will better respond to market requirements.”
