The Singapore government’s decision to restructure the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) into two entities, has led to the creation of more than 400 jobs, Bernama reported.
From July, the CAAS will be split between the new aviation authority and a new airport management company. The CAAS will undertake the role of aviation regulator, while the new company focus on airport operations and management.
The current 1,800 CAAS staff have been split between the new aviation authority and airport management company, based on job functions. However the CAAS has called on Singaporeans to fill the new job positions for professionals, managers, executives and technical officers that will be generated by the restructuring.
The vacancies will be in both in the restructured CAAS and the new airport company, CAAS was reported saying in a statement.
CAAS Director-General and CEO, Lim Kim Choon, was reported saying that the objective of restructuring was to enhance Changi Airport’s competitiveness and strengthen Singapore’s aviation hub status.
