Singapore nightlife gains from F1

Nightspots in Singapore are reported to have gained the most from the inaugural Formula 1 grand prix weekend, according to a ChannelNews Asia report. Customer numbers were boosted by some 40,000 tourists arriving in the city, with takings up on average 40%.
Nightspot operators had reportedly invested large sums staging shows and and their efforts were rewarded by over 70,000 party-goers all over the island on each night of the F1 weekend. In Singapore’s trendy Clarke Quay area, 50,000 people were estimated to have been entertained on each night of the three-day period - 20,000 more than usual.
