The Singapore Recreation Club has announced that it will be unveiling its guest rooms next month. Serving people since 1883, the Club will be the oldest ‘brand’ in Singapore’s Civic District/Marina Bay vicinity to go into the rooms business. Calling itself ‘The Residence’, the Club’s goal is to create the ultimate city residence and hotel for business and leisure travellers visiting the Lion City.
Located on the Padang, The Residence is right in the heart of Singapore’s shopping district and on the Singapore Grand Prix circuit. It will boast a mix of 26 deluxe rooms and suites with a full-service business centre. All rooms are equipped with LCD television, wireless broadband Internet connection and iPod/iPhone docking stations. The Residence guests are granted a ‘visiting member’ status when they check in, allowing them to participate in the Club’s many recreational activities such as social dancing, billiards, bowling and many others. The Residence is also the only accommodation in the city to feature an indoor heated pool and a bowling alley.
The Residence expects to receive its first guests in September 2009 in time for the Singapore Grand Prix.
