Singapore and Syria hope to step up tourism cooperation, following discussions between Singapore Foreign Affairs Minister, George Yeo, and Syrian President, Bashar Al-Assad. ChannelNewsAsia reported that the move follows the establishing of diplomatic ties in 2008.”In the economic sphere, there is a lot of room. For example, you have so many beautiful sights here (in Syria), you can surely develop bilateral tourism,” Yeo was reported saying.
