A special levy imposed on hotels during the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix weekend will be cut from five to four this year due to the current economic downturn.
ChannelNews Asia reported the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) as saying on Friday that levy will only be in place from 24-27 September this year.
Trackside hotels however, will still have to pay the same amount - 30% of their total revenues from rooms, while other hotels in the city will be charged 20%. STB reportedly made the one-night concession following consultations with the Singapore Hotel Association.
