Visitor arrivals to Singapore fell at a slower pace in July, as attractive holiday packages and promotions helped the sector recovery. ChannelNewsAsia reported Singapore Tourism Board (STB) figures as showing that the number of visitors arriving in the city-state dropped 4.5% to 881,000 in July, its smallest year-on-year decline this year.
Arrivals from key regional markets – Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam – registered double-digit growth of between 11.2 and 18.2% in July. These partly helped negate declines from other key markets, including Japan, South Korea and China, which STB said were not as steep as in recent months.
