Singaporeans warm up to skiing holidays

The trend has picked up in the last two years, fuelled in part by a growing number of people who have studied or worked abroad, and have been exposed to winter sports, The Straits Times reported.
According to travel agents it quoted, South Korea, in particular, is popular, also because of the popularity of Korean dramas which feature gorgeous winter scenery. Another upcoming destination is China, popular because of lower costs and ease of language.
Travel agents also report a higher demand for customised itineraries for the more serious skiers, the newspaper said.
